Courtney Bed, Inc. is the proud maker of the Courtney Bed, hand-crafted pediatric Special Needs beds for children who have a cognitive disability and need a safe place to sleep. The Courtney Bed is a great alternative to a standard hospital bed and is designed for children with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, Angelman’s Syndrome and Developmental Disabilities.
The child is surrounded by a solid hardwood frame coupled with soft-sided fabric panels that eliminate the possibility a user will fall out of bed and will limit nighttime wandering. Sewn into the panels are mesh netting windows that are very strong and non-abrasive and allow the individual to fall or bounce against them without injury. The front panel is zippered to allow entrance into the sleeping area and because the inner compartment is padded, head banging or other unsafe activity is extremely minimized.
